Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, is an island country in the Indian Ocean, often referred to as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean".

Despite its relatively small size, Sri Lanka has one of the highest rates of biological endemism (23% of the flowering plants and 16% of the mammals in the island are endemic) in the world.

This is my endeavor to share the beauty of this country with the world. I plan to update this blog with images and information on a regular basis.
